Your travel insurance coverage depends on your purchase date and time.
If you purchased your Budget Direct Travel Insurance before the above
cut-off date and time, you are covered under the policy with us for claims arising from or related to the
Middle East Conflict.
If you purchased your Budget Direct Travel Insurance On/After the above
cut-off date and time, there will be no coverage for claims related to the Middle East Conflict.

Understanding Your Travel Insurance Benefits
Please note that the benefits listed below apply to quotes obtained on or after 19 December 2025.
Get to know some of the main covers included in your plan and how they help protect you while you’re away.
Personal Accident and Medical Expenses
- Accidental Death
If you have an accident and suffer a fatal injury whilst on your trip, we
will pay out a cash sum.
- Permanent Total Disablement
If you have an accident during your trip and your injury causes you to be permanently disabled, then rest
assured you're covered.
- Overseas Medical Expenses
If you're injured or become sick whilst overseas, then we will help pay for your medical treatment while you are
overseas.
- Medical Expenses in Singapore
If you're injured or become sick whilst overseas, we will help pay for your medical treatment on your return to
Singapore.
- Overseas Hospital Confinement
If you are injured or become sick during your trip and it is necessary for you to stay in hospital, we will pay
you a per day allowance.
- Compassionate Visit
If you become hospitalised for 72 hours or more and no adult family member is with you, we will pay reasonable
expenses for a family member to travel to be with you.
- Return of Minor Children
If you are hospitalised while on your trip, we will pay reasonable expenses for another adult to travel to your
location and accompany your children back to Singapore.
- Quarantine Allowance in Singapore and Overseas
If a government or health authority places you into quarantine during your trip or upon your return to
Singapore, we will pay you a per day allowance.
- Treatment by a Chinese Medicine Practitioner or a Chiropractor
If you suffer an injury or become sick whilst overseas, we will help pay for your treatment by a Chinese
Medicine Practitioner or Chiropractor.
Travel Inconveniences
- Trip Disruptions
If you're forced to cancel, postpone, shorten or disrupt your trip due to certain reasons, we will cover the
transport and accommodation expenses that you have to pay for that trip.
- Airline and Travel Agency Insolvency
If your travel plans are affected due to the insolvency of your travel agency, transport provider or tour
operator or if the airline for inbound and outbound flights from Singapore has ceased operations, we will pay
for non-recoverable transport and accommodation expenses.
- Travel Delays
If you're delayed leaving Singapore or any destination overseas for more than 6 consecutive hours, we'll pay you
a cash benefit.
- Missed Connections, Diversions and Overbooking
If your travel plans are altered due to a missed connection, diversion or overbooking, we will pay an allowance
for every six hours you are inconvenienced.
- Pet Hotel
If you’ve placed your dog or cat in a kennel, cattery, or pet hotel while you’re away and your return home is
delayed, we’ll help cover the additional cost of their extended stay.
Personal Belongings
- Baggage, Personal Belongings, Cash and Travel Documents
If your baggage, personal belongings and cash are lost, damaged or stolen whilst you're overseas, you are
covered.
If your passport and travel documents are lost or stolen whilst you're overseas, we'll cover your extra
transport and accommodation expenses to enable you to obtain their replacement overseas.
- Fraudulent Use of Credit Card
If your credit card is lost or stolen while you’re overseas and used without your permission, we’ll cover the
amount you’re held liable for.
- Baggage Delay in Singapore and Overseas
If your checked-in baggage has been delayed or misplaced whilst you’re overseas, we'll pay a cash benefit for
every 6 consecutive hours of delay. If your checked-in baggage is delayed or misplaced upon your return to
Singapore, we’ll pay you a one-time cash benefit after 6 consecutive hours of delay.
Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
- Emergency Medical Evacuation
If you are in a life-threatening condition because of sickness or get seriously injured during your trip, we'll
help pay for your evacuation if it is necessary to move you to the nearest medical facility either in Singapore
or overseas. This also applies if you need to return to Singapore to continue treatment.
- Repatriation
If you suffer a fatal injury or sickness during your trip, then we will help pay the expenses to bring your body
back to Singapore or your home country.
Other Benefits
- Emergency Telephone Charges
When you make a claim for a medical emergency whilst overseas, we'll also reimburse you the cost of your phone
call to our emergency hotline.
- Personal Liability
If you accidentally injure someone whilst overseas or cause loss or damage to a person's property, we'll help
pay your approved legal costs and expenses incurred.
- Passive War
If any losses covered under your policy is related to an act of war which you did not participate in, you are
still covered.
- Terrorism Cover
If any losses covered under your policy is related to an act of terrorism not involving nuclear, chemical or
biological devices, you are still covered.
- Legal Expenses
In the event that you're falsely arrested or wrongfully detained by any government or public authority, we'll
help reimburse your approved legal expenses incurred.
- Hijack or Public Conveyance
If your public transport is hijacked or detained during your trip, we will pay you a cash benefit for each
24-hour period that you are held.
- Kidnap and Hostage
If you are kidnapped and held hostage whilst overseas, we will pay you a cash benefit for each 24-hour period
that you are detained.
- Rental Vehicle Excess Cover
If your rental car is damaged due to an accident or stolen during your trip, we'll pay the excess or deductible
of the insurance for that rental car that you're liable for.
- Home Contents
If there is loss or damage to your home contents due to a fire in your home that was left vacant whilst you are
overseas, we can repair, replace or pay you a cash equivalent for the damaged home contents.
